How I got started in sports: Growing up in Vancouver, I began mountain biking at an early age. The mountains and trails were right outside my back door. I started running in my early 20s when my then-boyfriend signed me up for an adventure race that included a 10k.
Favorite spot to be active: Cycling: Pacific Coast highway. Running: San Vicente Loop in Santa Monica.
Favorite fuel: Clif Bars and PowerBar Gels
Favorite indulgence: Cookies and cream frozen yogurt
Life/sport philosophy: If I can think it, I have to try it.
Athletic highlights: competing in my first triathlon, ith e2006 Santa Barbara Sprint Triathlon. i learned to swim two months before the competition.
Athletic goals: Compete in Ironman Canada in 2008.
When I’m not doing doing pilates or walking, I’m: Scuba diving, reading, cooking or watching comedies.
Other interesting facts: I was diagnosed with lupus in 1998. However, it's been in remission for the last several years, largely due, i believe, to my staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle. |
