ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (November 11, 2003) – Dawna Stone, founder of Her Sports, a new women's sports and lifestyle magazine set to launch in March, has announced she will serve as publisher and president of the active sports title.

Stone will oversee advertising, editorial, production and creative design for the glossy newsstand magazine aimed at women who participate in high-energy sports and regard active sports as an integral part of their lives and self-image.

"Developing a magazine for smart, successful, active women has been a lifelong dream," says Stone. "Combining my passion for athletics with my love for business—while inspiring other women to lead healthy, balanced, empowered lives—is a dream come true."

Stone is launching Her Sports following an impressive career in corporate marketing, operations and finance. Most recently, she served as Chief Marketing Officer for MarineMax, the world's largest recreational boat retailer with 62 locations in 14 states. In this role, Stone was responsible for all marketing, advertising and public relations for the $600 million publicly traded company. In addition, she oversaw the development and distribution of a 67,000 circulation boating lifestyle magazine.

Prior to joining MarineMax in 2001, Stone served as senior vice president at the Active Network, the world's largest online athletic registration site, and was president and general manager of PR*Nutrition in San Diego, Calif. Stone has also worked as a financial analyst for Morgan Stanley and as a high-level strategy and leadership consultant for Deloitte Consulting.

In addition to an impressive professional resume, which includes a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, Stone has an equally impressive athletic background, having finished the grueling Hawaii Ironman World Triathlon Championships, as well as numerous other endurance races.

Stone is also an avid hiker and water sports enthusiast and has built a management team that is comprised of fellow women athletes.
