CHICAGO (May 3, 2005) - Trudy Robinson, former publisher of Shape en Espanol and Hers magazines, has joined Her Sports magazine as vice president and partner.
"We are thrilled to have Trudy Robinson on board at Her
Sports," said Dawna Stone, publisher and founder of the women's sports lifestyle magazine. "Her industry experience and impressive track record will help us grow to a new level with advertising and circulation."
Robinson comes to Her
Sports from eight years at active lifestyle / fitness publishing giant American Media Inc./ Weider Publications, where she most recently served as publisher of Shape en Espanol and Hers magazines. She oversaw all advertising sales and trade marketing communications while managing profit and loss and directing a ten-person sales team for the combined.
"Trudy really understands our audience and its value to advertisers. We've already seen that Her
Sports appeals to the upscale, educated 30-something woman who enjoys being active and healthy through individual 'lifestyle' sports. Trudy's experience really helps us bring that story to life to as we grow our advertising partnerships," adds Stone.
"I was so impressed with the year one success Her
Sports has obtained from a readership and advertising perspective. It's not often that you see blue chip companies like Ford, Nestle, L'Oreal Asics and The North Face partnering with a magazine in its first year, let alone with an independent publisher. These advertising partners speak volumes for the desirable readership Stone has already attracted," said Robinson.
